Last year I finally bought a cover-up that I loved wearing and it was a total summer game-changer for me. Getting dressed on really steamy days is so easy now and I feel perfectly put-together between dips in the lake.
My typical summer day styling goes a lot like this:
- SPF? Check.
- Bathing suit? Check.
- Cover-up or Caftan? Check.
- Hat? Check.
- Flip flops? Optional, but also check.

THE EMERSON CAFTAN
This piece is so beautiful and airy to wear and despite its feathery weight, it doesn’t feel too delicate. I love that the hand block print visually elongates the frame. Emerson Fry also added a little inner tie around the waist that lets you adjust if you want a bit more shape (which I did for these photos). There is a hook and eye closure at the bust as well, making it new mom friendly. So many thoughtful details and such a gorgeous pattern. I’ve worn this countless times and it washes up beautifully and air dries overnight or in a couple of hours outside.
THE ORGANIC LINEN GAUZE CAFTAN
This piece is special because of its elegant shape, super breathable linen, and sophisticated sheerness. I love the airy drape of the fabric and the partial seam that runs along the sides but not to the bottom creating a subtle side slit. It’s particularly chic over a black bikini or one-piece swimsuit. With black flip flops and gold accessories, it’s impossible not to feel like a total babe in this one!
