It’s always fun to daydream about spring style, however, over the years I’ve learned (the hard way) not to let myself get too carried away with the spring weather I imagine. At least here in Ontario, it’s never quite as warm or magical as the internet would have us expect.
I’ve been getting lots of requests for spring style ideas and before I start sharing new looks, I wanted to revisit my favourites from last year. I would gladly repeat all of these, especially knowing that they were up to the task this time last year too.
It was bittersweet to remember how many of these outfits I wore on my daily walks with Dobby. He always got me out of the house, no matter the weather, and my closet owes much of its functionality to him. Whenever I find an old treat in my pocket I’ll be reminded of those special times.
Read on for 10 warm & chic early spring looks to put on your outfit planning radar.

Spring in Ontario rarely arrives without a significant amount of rain. Last year I created a Rainwear Capsule and having a few outfits at the ready has made life on dreary days much easier to dress for.

I bought this sweater vest on a bit of an impulse but it’s turned out to be a secret weapon in my transitional style. I love the wide fit for easy layering and cropped length because it creates a high visual midpoint.

This is one of my all-time favourite spring outfits. I know a trench coat isn’t exactly revolutionary spring attire but over a pair of ultra wide leg denim with a simple fitted tee and black Converse it makes a style statement. I particularly enjoy an oversized fit when it comes to a trench coat. It makes for easy layering and a relaxed silhouette always feels chic.
